640 low oil pressure-
Rebuilt in 2006
Crank turned
New main & rod bearings
New sleeves, pistons & rings
New crank seals
Oil pump cleaned and reinstalled with new gaskets 35-40 psi when hot for 2-3
years, just recently only 5 @ idle, 10 psi @ 1000 rpm
My plan is to 1st check the gauge which new in 06, then check & possibly replace the oil pump. I will also plastigauge the crank bearings.
If the excessive clearance is found, what's the best way to determine which size bearings to install? I'm not certain but .020 comes to mind.
Thanks, Jim in Baton Rouge
