NAA carburetor flooding

I just rebuilt a Marvel Schebler TSX 706 carburetor. Now it has raw fuel running out of the air intake. I set the float level at 1/4 inch as the kit instructions said to when I rebuilt it. The kit came from NAPA (very costly for just a few parts). I tried a new float from TSC, It didn't fix it. I tried another new float from YT or nnalert. I had it in my spare parts supply. I set the float level a little bit lower. It still floods. I can hear the float move when I jiggle the carburetor in my hands. If I hold the carburetor level in my hands I can blow air into the fuel line fitting. If I hold it upside down I can't blow air into it. The reason I rebuilt it was because it had been left sitting with very bad gas for about a rear. I don't see any cracks or corrosion that could be causing this problem. The tractor started and ran great before being parked.

Next question. The carburetor instruction sheet shows a power jet in type A and B carburetors. Mine is type B. There is no jet there. Is this correct?

You likely have a needle valve problem. The needle may not be seating properly or the gasket around that part of the carb may be messed up.

I had problems with my jubilee carb. looked on ebay and found one for 57 bucks shipped to my house. kit was 35 bucks. those old ford carb has gotten pretty cheap now. if it were mine I would valve the fuel out. take the line loose at the carb and fill it with wd-40. I had the same problem on my 960 after I put a kit in it and that solved the problem. w-40 is a lubricant and must of cleaned my needle valve out. might try that. might work for you.

Two things come to mind.
First is there have been many posts about the rubber tipped needle valves not seating. I have no real answer to that except use the old steel one.
Second, and this is one that drove me nuts. Even though I thought I had tightened the needle seat down, it wasn't enough. I used a bigger screw driver and a little help with a wrench on it to tighten it a little more. That solved my flooding issue.

I've had that trouble too on several MS carbs. What works for me is setting the float to 5/16 inch instead of 1/4. Never had one drip since I started doing that.

Can you give a little more info? Is the gas running out as soon as you open the shut-off? Or is it after cranking with no start?

It leaks as soon as I open the shut-off valve. I have a kit for an 8N sitting around. I'll raid the needle and seat out of it and drop
the float level to 5/16.
Thanks to everyone who has posted back to me.
