Ford 1841 steering cable

I have a Ford 1841 industrial tractor that has a steering issue, it chatters as I turn the wheel. I broke the steering column down and found that the actuator wheel and the cable are worn. I plan on turning the cable around so that the cable wouldn't be as worn, however, can't do that with the actuator wheel. I'm unable to locate a wheel so I'm out of luck that way. HOWEVER, here is a bolt going into the housing where the cable is at. It looks like it might be a tensioner for the cable onto the actuator wheel. There in nothing in my manual showing this bolt or even talks about it. Does anybody know what this bolt is for. If it is a tensioner would you know how much tension is to be placed on it.

I hear you need to change that system over to the newer type and they aint cheap. Click on modern view and you can type in the search bar 1841 steering. Hit search and when the page resets hit search again. It will pull up old posts on the subject. You can give a shoutout to Tony Jacobs also, he knows those cable type systems.

I changed mine to an orbitrol valve, put on a F700 Ford truck power steering cylinder which connected from the axle to the tie rod, attached it to the tie rod with u-bolts and bracket from the truck and it works fine. The other end of the cylinder fit in the tapered hole where the tractor cylinder came from. The same tractor pump works the system fine. The steering valve came from a combine.
