Ford 600 painting

I have a couple questions about painting...

Should the throttle lever and shaft with linkage be painted a color? I was thinking about making it all black?

What about the coil, is that worth painting black or do I just leave it?

Starter and generator? Red for both, correct?

thanks, moday

As the late 'sparkie-meister' Dell use to say, "...it's yer tractor, you kin paint it enny colour you like except yeller & green...". Throttle and lever were CAD Plated on Ford Tractors, never painted. The first early 9N's had chrome plating on the lever. This was a silver-blue tint, not the later gold CAD plating used today. Here is a LINK to a fine company that specializes in products for vehicle restorations. EASTWOOD Products sells a Siler Cad paint that comes close to the original. Other parts CAD plated were the acorn nut and gas tank.

Yes, the rods would have come into the factory plated and put on after painting. The starter and genny would have been installed before painting so they were red. We do know that if the starter were added after painting that the tractor would not start.

What color was the tool box? Black? This one was bolted to the sheet metal hood. Kind of left some big rusty holes in the sheet metal and the back of the tool box is gone. Pretty much rusted away.

The correct tool box which is on the right between the running board and the rear axle was red.

I think that this is an original tool box but it was bolted to the sheet metal on the left side a bit in front of the left foot of the driver. Sounds like that is incorrect placement? I'll have to look at some other ones.

The correct box is approx. 10 inches long by approx. 5 inches wide by approx. three inches deep. The front half of the top opens to the front. It has a tab at the non opening end to bolt under the axle and two holes at the front to bolt to the back of the running board.

I have that original toolbox For sale if interested...I'm think $25 + $18.90 shipping
