Ford 2000 running good again

So, I finally got my tractor up and running again. Too many other projects needed completed, so it took some time- also I have a '41 9n that I used while the 2000 was down. Anyhow, when I first acquired this tractor, the fuel pump was by passed and made gravity feed, the carb was severely messed up and had jb weld repairs on it, and many other band aid fixes. Now it has a brand new zenith carb, new fuel pump, oil change, new fuel lines and tank valve. The rear axle/hydraulic reservoir was 5 gallons low, now its topped off. Now it runs great, like a whole different tractor. The governor rod still needs a final adjustment, it will get one when my new manual arrives. Also the rod end on the carb linkage needs replacement- the previous owner zip tied it together and it is now too worn for zipties... I will try to find one locally, however our local new holland dealer closed their doors. All in all, it runs amazing, i have a few loose ends- but that's no big deal.

Aaron,

As weird as this sounds, I'll ask anyway. Have you looked on Amazon for that carburetor rod linkage? I just did and there are two different vendors advertising linkage for Ford tractors, including the 2000.

I recently bought a carburetor rebuild kit for a 50 year old Gravely lawn tractor on Amazon. I've bought plumbing parts, repair manuals, repair parts for my multimeter, and scads of other stuff.

You might want to take a look.

Thanks for the info, I found it on Amazon... I am going to look locally today because I want to use this beast today. If I cant find it I will order online. Can't be too hard to find something that will work- it's just a darn rod end! I have seen all different sizes of the same thing on other equipment! Finding the RIGHT one may be the issue!

Just for informations sake, the napa part number for a 1/4 rod end that works for the 2000-3000 (maybe more) is NAPA 2-691

I tried to delete my last post but apparently I cant right now. That last part number I gave is incorrect and it will not work.
