i cant seem to bleed my fuel system , i have fuel going into the injector pump but no fuel getting to the injectors , i have been told that a new pump will be $800 to $1000 anybody familiar with this system ? are these rebuildable ? What does that cost ? can you name a place that rebuilds ? thanks guys

Its a inline pump. Hasn't had oil changed in for ever? Rack stuck. Take cover off that says Simms There is a rod in there that moves back and forth, Free up with favorite prentrant. May not be problem but a place to start They are rebuildable and can get expensive. There is companys that are local that can do it. Have you bleed by fuel filters with pumping with pump on side by hand.

A fairly new problem in the tractor world is the pumps internal parts sticking/hanging up. On average about 20/30% of all the pump work I do is this issue. Really common and not as expensive as you have been told. I have heard some high priced horror stories coming from the eastern part of our land. Make a few calls and check around. A call or two will save you some serious cash. Take the money you save and take the special person out on the town. I would be glad to give you a quote if you are interested. Al 231/757/0064

The 3000 series alternated back and forth between the Simms in-line pump and the CAV rotary pump a couple of times during the production run. The CAV was used on the 3000 series from the beginning of the production run through the end of 1965, and then again during the month of September 1969 and then from 1/71 through the end of the production run.

Takin' em out is a good call, Al. Its not who you are, but who you know. Steak dinner sounds pretty good and you get to enjoy it too.

Yepper, my '65 has a CAV and I found it interesting that the Ford Shop Manual (2" thick OEM) verbiage only covers the Simms pump. Thought the PO may have done a complete swap before I
realized what you said.
