Ford 861 Hydraulic tubes

Okay, so I am in the process of replacing the high pressure
hydraulic tube in a ford 861. I got the old tube out and got the
new one most of the way in, the problem is it has stopped
about 3/4 inch from being all the way in. I don?t want to
hammer on it too hard and break something. Does anyone
know if I pull off the hydraulic top cover if I can see the end of
the line and maybe figure out the problem?

Don't think you can see it. In the last inch, all three press fit areas are making it harder to insert. That is likely what you are experiencing.

There are many threads here describing the different processes used to replace those tubes. lots of detail and pics in some of them. I believe that some have used pullers made from all-thread rod. I would not want to try it without first removing the top cover and giving the bottom a thorough cleaning with fuel.

Like I said i got the old one out without any problems by
tapping it and pulling it out with all thread. I will try pressing
this one in some more. Any tips on how to put it in without
deforming the end besides hammering a piece of wood?

You need to make a driver out of metal...
