is my Zenith carb ruined?

I have attached a picture of my zenith carb. is it damaged by what the PO did to it by not installing the banjo fitting and sediment bowl?
From what you see, what size banjo bolt is it?
the number on the tag is:
13875A
CONN G

Sediment bowls are good to have, but if it runs now and the threads on the carburetor inlet are okay I doubt it is ruined. Even with a sediment bowl in place junk gets into the carburetor bowl. Water will get into the bowl and other sediments will form as gas ages or gets by the filter.
I would install a sediment bowl. I don't know what other filters a 63 gasser 4000 would have.

(quoted from post at 15:54:26 10/11/18) It is a 1963 4000 model
hat carb probably was not designed for the bowl & fitting that you refer to which was used on the OEM Marvel/Shiebler carb.

Ford used two banjo bolt sizes - 3/8" for the 134, and 172 prior to tractor serial number 126525 and 7/16" for the 172 after S/N 126524. Your replacement Zenith carbureter is meant to replace Ford CONN-9510G which is for the 172 engine after tractor serial number 126524. Therefore it should have the 7/16" banjo bolt (stem). Whether the threads were damaged??? I guess you'd have to try a 7/16" stem and see.
