Wanted to buy, used

I am looking for a "Good" used cam, or a used one that's good to be ground.

I need a cam that will work in a 172 diesel, if you have one, please post, pm, or e-mail me, with cost.

"Good - means put in and go.

"Good to be ground" - Means that it has good bearing journals, good key way, good pump drive gear. one that you have, and don't know if it's good, or just has a journal, or two that's lightly worn, nothing bad.

Does anyone know, if the cam from a 192 will work in a 172. Are they the same? I know someone that has a 192 cam, but can't find anyone that knows if it is the same.

Hey Pat, I had to do some fencing yesterday, didnt get a look at the cam yet. I'll try to get to it today. I am pretty sure those 4 cylinder
192 industrial parts are interchangable with the 172.

I have a used cam that out of an early 1960's diesel motor. It fall in the "good to be ground" category. It is factory marked as diesel.

Thanks, I'll get to you on this, but I had talked to someone right after posting, about a drop in and go cam, and I told him I'd wait till I hear back from him First. Does not mean I made up my mind, on any cam yet.

Hopefully it's a good one, and I can just use it without having to grind it.
