The Ford 9600 with the big cab used to live on a golf course. Its only job was to power a 540rpm pto pump for the golf courses irrigation system. Its 3pth never got used. The quadrant handle is seized in the down position. It will not move, and I did not force it.What do you think has happened to it.? Can it be freed up easily? Thanks in advance for any replies, John

I am not Bern either but since the 9600 is almost exactly the same as a 9000 I am pretty sure that I can help you if you would like.

Larry and showcrop, you don't need my permission to share just because my name is attached to the post. Feel free to throw in your advice, with or without my consent.

To jo-ker, your problem is most likely in the external linkage. With reference to the link below, I'd say that shaft #9 is seized in tube #4. To verify, disconnect the lower end of link #13, where it attaches to the lift cover. If the handle in the cab moves freely, then your external linkage is OK and the problem is internal. However, if I were a betting man, my odds would be with the external linkage.

GRRR! Bern your response only appears on classic view, though modern view says you have replied. Good response. I would not have known about the shaft in the tube. I was looking at the friction disk on the side of the top cover.
