Found this tractor today at a salvage yard and the guy is going to have it hauled off to another scrap yard. He does not know anything about it, except that's where it was unloaded years ago.
What I do know about it is, it was used by the U.S Army at one point, due to the stenciling on the hood. The backhoe is complete and not to much slop in the pivot points. The loader is complete from what I can tell, and no welds on it. Of course, all four tires are flat and severally cracked, the power steering pump only has part of the pulley(strange), steering has some play. Only modification that I can see is, there is a toggle switch instead of a key. The hour meter shows 885 hours, I'm sure that is not accurate.
I really don't want the tractor, but I hate to see it get melted down. I have 2 8N's and that's one more than I need.
I think I will offer the guy $500 for it, and that's more than I really want to pay.
Any serious or humorous comments?
