Ford 3000 hydraulic pressure nut

Can anyone explain how this is supposed to grip the hydraulic line? My tractor blew two of these off last night. Now it's going to sit in the field until I get a new one, but there's no reason to think the next one will hold any better. Is there something missing? I recall the original I changed a couple years ago had a thin metal "washer" that fit around the line and bit into it. I don't see that on these ones. Has that changed or am I missing a part when I look at the schematic?
Thanks

There should be a metal washer as you had with your old one. There will be a worn spot in the tube where the old washer bit, cut maybe an eighth off the tube so when you bottom it out before tightening the new compression fitting it gives the washer a new place to grab the tube.

Thanks, I assumed there had to be something missing.
Can anyone decipher the part number for that "washer"? Maybe I'm just overlooking it, but I can't find it on there.

All we ever sold was the complete nut. Find a local guy who is a dealer for Sparex after market parts. They sell that nut for considerably less that CNH, and I've sold a bunch and they seem to be good quality.

Mine blew on my 2000 when lifting something too heavy on 3 point. Fluid everywhere. I shoved it back in, tightened, still leaked bad. Got a new nut with washers and was good to go.

After some use, re-tighten a little. Mine started dripping after a few months.

Is it possible to still get the washer that grips the tube? I’ve bought a few of the nut assemblies the last couple years and they only come with the copper rings that don’t grip or hold well. With all the effective and proven fittings out there, I’m baffled why they ever chose this one.

I’m done messing with it. Its holding for now, but I’ll be putting together some fittings to eliminate that weak point. Its a major PITA when that thing decides to let loose. For what it costs for the nut assemblies and a new tube, I can replace it with something that actually works.

I know this is an old post, but for the people having this trouble there is a fix. Buy the compression nut from New Holland, look at it and you will see why this one won't work. The New Holland (ford) part works, it has a funnel shaped washer on one side of the rubber that when tightened bites into the tube.

This compression nut at YT is $6.32 the one at New Holland $42.90 but as the guy says at New Holland "Well I guess it's what works for you" and it works.
