I have a Ford 3400 Industrial with a 730 Loader. The Loader control valve is leaking. They no longer have a rebuild kit. I and I can not find a new loader control either. Is it possible to put a universal control valve on it. And if so how. the return line is a steel pipe not a hose. Has anyone run into this. Thanks
 
You can reseal a control valve without a kit. Normally involves
taking apart the valve and matching up the various seals and O-
rings. In fact the O-rings for the 730s various control valves are
listed at Messicks (see link at bottom). The 730 used different
valves with different features as shown in the specs below. And
yes, you can cobble in a new generic control valve if you want but
that would involve finding a valve with the features and flow
capacity you want, devising mechanical mounting arrangements, and
dealing with adapting the hydraulic plumbing to the new valve.
