4100 still not running right.

Well I finally got the pump back and put it on with high hopes. Guy said the advance spring was broken. Runs perfect at low and middle speed but still misses and runs raggedy at working rpms... Getting to be pretty frustrating. Took it out to run it on the brush hog a little while and high centered it on a stump, got to walk back about a mile. Had to air up the rear tire before I left, I'm sure it'll be flat too when I get back down there....

Either your timing is still not right, or your air cleaner is plugged. Try it with the air cleaner pipe off. If that doesn't fix it, advance the pump as per my prior instructions.

Some more help you probably dont need...... Enjoy.

Gas or diesel? Sometimes with the heat, you can get vapor lock. Try loosening the cap on the fuel tank. Have you checked the pressure in your tires? Low tire pressure might be the cause of weak batteries and popping out of gear. Are any of them equipped with sawmill belt pullies? You don't polish them do you? If so, you may wanna consider wheel weights to offset the belt slippage. Blue/green antifreeze versus pink. Sometimes they don't mix well, especially if you are running hotter plugs and a rain cap. There are some other things to consider, but short of splitting your tractors at the rear PTO shaft seal, let's try these first. Personally, I have found that a 6 to 12 volt conversion sometimes helps. Not always unless you include a battery with the conversion.

Good luck though, and what color are your tractors? Sometimes paint color can be the problem too.
