Sherman transmissions

Sherman step-up/step-down/combination would be on the left.
If you have a handle in the same location on the right side,
possibly a Hupp auxiliary transmission. There were several
manufactures of aftermarket auxiliary transmissions.

This is a Hupp with a Sherman step-up handle attached in an 8N trans.

I have a 2n with the hi/low Sherman on the left side. But, unless you are trying to get from one
field to another quickly, or if you are driving it on the road, the hi gear is simply too high for
any work on the farm. My opinion, I think you are better off with a 4 speed 8n.
