Folks, I drive by this every day. It's been for sale for about two years. The price has been reduced several times during this time but is now approaching a reasonable price.

One would think that the owner would know that it is not an 8N or 800 by now.

One would also think that the owner would post a picture or two in the ad if he really wanted to sell it.

Not associated, of course.

What Is It

Well, he says it's a trike so I would assume from that a 9xx.
Power steering and the 1958 "assumed" year would point to a 9x1.
The Powermaster label would point that way too.

When you say you drive by it, do you mean the ad or the tractor?
Seems like with your skills if you saw the tractor you would know.
That price would not be reasonable in my area for a 9x1.

I drive by the tractor just about every day.

Yes, it is a 961 (or 951). I was commenting tongue in cheek about the ad.

The price started out at $6,500 for a year or so, IIRC. It was then at $5,500 for another year or so.

It has been "restored" and has 4 new tires. It looks good aside from the red wheel centers but I've not seen it other than from my car.

It also sits on a classic car lot on a very heavily traveled highway. The price is getting close to reasonable around here.

I know the owner (or consignee). He deals in classic cars and has for decades. I would have thought that he could write a better ad.

"I was commenting tongue in cheek about the ad."

I thought that might be the case. It's odd that we are so close
geographically and the prices vary so widely. Supply and demand.

This is a picture of my 851 mutt with a back blade.
It has power steering, rebuilt hydraulics and new brakes.
One call at $2500 and he passed. Didn't like the industrial tires.
We'll just keep using it I guess!

I called them turf tires too Sean. Tony Jacobs corrected me fairly quickly.
Whether they're turf tires or industrial tires, most people around here
would prefer AG tires. Until they try to put tire chains on and use them.

Although this was not once the case, row crops are selling better than utilities these days.

I would not spend $5,000 for the advertised 961 (?), but I expect that someone will spend $4,500.

Close.

They aint much good for traction or braking unless they are loaded and have a full weight set on them. I wouldnt go in the mud with them.
