just picked a ford that i cant get any spark, new parts are points condenser rotor button and coil, next i am going to replace the cap. Also checked timing at 4 BTDC, what am I missing. even had my son to hold coil wire over a dozen times and nothing, love to show him the meaning of SPARK!

Check voltage at coil. If zero trace it back to battery and see where you lose it.

Check the wire from the coil to the points where it goes through the side of the distributor body. They are prone to rub and wear through the insulation at that point and short to ground.
