Early 3000 front spindles

Hi all, I am doing the kingpin bushings on my 1965 Ford 3000 (with power steering). The spindles were a little worn so I figured I would replace them at the same time (aftermarket ones are cheap enough). Looking at the parts books the number is F2NN3105AA - crosses to the easily available aftermarket ones.

However, the replacements I got are about 1" longer than mine, even though they have the same bushing and bearing diameters. They wont go all the way into the axle ends because the step between bushing diameters is too long.
I've looked through the parts catalogs and cannot figure out what the deal is. The stubby spindles are listed as being about 8" tall, which would be about 3 inches shorter than the ones I ordered (11.67" tall), and too short.

I don't have the one-piece front axle, the spindle for that is about the right length but the wrong diameter.

Does anyone know what's going on here?

Another thing to note - The left and right spindles have different part numbers. The part number that you listed is for the right side only. The left side spindle that would match that one is F2NN3106AA.

Did you forget to install the thrust bearing on the bottom of the spindle, that takes up 1/2" or more.

The 2110 and 4110 LCG models had the same adjustable width radius rod front axle design as the 2000 and 3000 ag models, just with shorter spindles.

No mine is the standard early ag type with the radius rods allached to the center beam with the ends bolted to it.

Need to measure both - maybe the aftermarket spindles are just wrong.

Is it possible that you have the front axle from a 2110 or 4110 LCG tractor on your 3000?
