Ford 3400 hood support

Could someone e-mail me a picture of hood support rod on a 3400 tractor. That's the rod that holds hood up. I can't seem to find mine after painting tractor. Thanks

Hi Steve. You can see a picture of one on this site in the parts. If you can't find yours they are $5.99 part number C7NN8042A

I could use a pic too - mine has always been missing and I can’t figure out where it is supposed to go.

Yes, thanks! I need to look under my hood and see if the little tab is there. I was looking all over the place on the cowl and top of the grille for where it is supposed to be.

There was originally a rubber grommet in the hole on the tab on the underside of the hood where the hooked end of the rod goes. It helps keep the rod and tab from rubbing each others paint off as well as helps keep that end of the rod in place.
