Is the 850 and 851 the same tractor with different engines?

I am about to get another Ford, this one an 851 with a Dearborn grader front end. It looks pretty much just like my 850 gasser.

Trans housing and rear/hydraulic housing are different. Depending on the year it might have the beefed up rear end. Hood and fenders are different. Depending on the year it might have a better
hydraulic pump and larger carb. Other than that pretty much the same

850 is part of the -00 series built 1955-57
851 is part of the -01 series built 58-62
Both are the same basic tractor with 5 spd trans and trans pto.

The grill should look different.

In reply to your query in the subject of the post... No, they are slightly different tractors with basically the same engine, unless the 851 has a diesel engine, in which case the engines are different but based on the same basic design.
