Best I can tell number starts with a star? What does that mean? Looks like *1233. Maybe 1954 if I'm reading tractor data right.

I believe there should also be a star at the end. The stars don't mean anything special as far as I am aware, they just used them to mark the beginning and end of the serial number so that if you found both stars and the numbers in between then you know you found the whole serial number. If you don't see the trailing star on yours there may be one or more digits in the number after the ones that you found.
