Ford 641 carb color

Does any of you Ford 641 Workmaster folks know if the carburetor was originally painted red, I am in the process of installing a kit on mine and now would be the perfect time to paint it.

I inherited my Dad's old 641 Ford and
the original carb is still on it and it
is not painted at all, but it has been
rebuilt 4 or 5 times over the years so
any trace of paint that may have been on
it is long gone, I'm of no help to you
but maybe some others will chime in soon

I am holding in my hand a real actual sixteen page full color brochure tiled: "Ford tractors and Equipment for Landscaping" It is not colorized black and white, but actual full color photographs. It shows a closeup of a 601. The carb is red, the clamps are a gold color plate. The starter and Genny are RED. Shout back if you have other questions!

Showcrop, that's very interesting and
glad you posted that the carb should be
red. I was real young when Daddy bought
the 601 that I have now and I don't
remember that far back but I always
assumed the carb was painted black
originally, our 601 carb is currently
not painted but there's no telling how
many times it's been soaked, cleaned and
rebuilt. I'm going to repaint the entire
tractor one of these days so I guess
I'll paint my carb red instead of black
