I am working on an ford 8630 that throws codes c7 when you put in forward gears and c1 when you put in reverse gears. It will not throw any codes in neutral. I had a lot of wiring issues with the solenoid connectors but got them straighten out. It worked good for about 4 months after i repaired the wires and all of a sudden it started throwing the codes. I checked continuity in all the solenoids and they all checked out. Any help with the codes and location of which of the affected solenoid would be appreciated.

From the experience that I had with my 8240, your solenoid problems are completely separate from your C-1 and C-7 problems. I am pretty sure that they both mean that the respective clutch packs are taking too long to fill which means that your seals are gone which means that your tranny needs rebuilding. I was able to use the onboard computer to tell me this with the help of the manual. I took it to the dealer and that is what it was. I will suggest that if your solenoids are inside that you replace them all while it is apart.
