Tractor hydraulic pump?

I'm not sure if I have a air leak or possibly a bad pump .I don't have experience working on tractors I had a lift kit put on a 1969 ford 2000 3cyl gas tractor it still does not work no lift.The man that worked on tractor said he thinks it's pump.Can anyone tell me any tips on how to check pump to see if it's good or if it's loosing prime or sucking air.If the lower arms are taken of the top arms move a little but if you put lower arms on .The lift will not pick up at all.Any tips or anything would be greatly appreciated.[/url]

Air can be bled from hydraulic hoses at a coupling. Careful if oil is hot.
