No problem. I just thought if there was something listed that wasn't current I should find out and fix it.

John, please accept my apology -
I gathered the impression from some dates that were scattered about your site - one thing I've noticed in life is that good things tend to go away - I'm happy you're not one of them -
Thank you for the tremendous resource you have provided everyone -
here's a picture of my little extravagance of early 2016 -

the combination Sherman has a handle that fits over a square shaft and is held on by an allen headed bolt - the others have a different configuration - you should be able to see the end of the shaft where the handle enters the clutch housing -
handles are available here and there - I've seen them on eBay, and if you google 'sherman transmission' or 'Ford sherman transmission' you'll get several hits -
here's the definitive Sherman website http://www.oldfordtractors.com/sherman.htm - he also shows a handle for sale, but I'm not confident the 'for sale' section is actually current - there's a step by step rebuild page -
I just saw a site yesterday (when shopping for other parts) that listed all the parts necessary for a Sherman rebuild in a package deal - $189, as I recall - you have to split the tractor to get to it - and if there's other pieces damaged/worn out things get pricey fast - I don't have that page bookmarked, but will hunt it up tonight -

"but I'm not confident the 'for sale' section is actually current"

What would lead you to think it's not current?

Probably a sherman combo. Yes it has value but would depend on the condition. Parts tractor usually means could have been sitting a long time which some rusting or pitting could have occurred. Best to take it out and open it up for inspection. Value might be $100 or up to $600/$700. If you don't want to split the tractor for inspection you can always pop the steering box off to access the top of the sherman.

Today's Featured Article - It's Alright Where It Is! - by Anthony West. I have a tale of a different kind to tell. Whilst rooting in the hedge bottoms this week I had cause to visit Chapel lane Farm, the home of an eccentric gentleman by the name of Austin Kendall. I had heard rumours that an old Case Model C was languishing away in the back of one of the outbuildings there. So off I went in search of what would turn out to be a very rare and unusual tractor. Mr Kendall is an excitable chap to say the least. He is amongst the last of a dying breed of farmer who ... [Read Article]
