Just wondering if a 6 volt single pole solenoid will work on a 12 volt system on an 860 Ford

Short answer is yes.

I'm using the stock 6V solenoid on my 12V 960.
Same on my Jubilees.
Assuming yours is the original type it would be the same.
Two battery cable lugs and one small terminal that is
grounded when you push the neutral safety thumb switch.

Thanks Royce, that was what I was pretty sure of but I wanted to be positive before I spent the money on a new one. The P.O. has wired up a push button with a 2 pole solenoid that you would use on a car & I wanted to get it back to where I can use the neutral safety switch. Thanks again. Keith
