Do I need one to bushhog with a Ford 801 when bushhogging?

An overrunning clutch is needed unless you have a 2-stage clutch (Double clutch; live PTO). There is no advantage to using one on a tractor with live PTO, because the transmission is uncoupled from the PTO as soon as you depress the clutch just half way.

YES. It will save your drive line and make it much easier to stop. Those "hog's" can push you places that you don't want to go, tree's, ponds and the like.
