fantastic tractor! I had forgotten the white base coat. We used to do that with chevy engine orange to make the color pop out. I also love the rear stands in the fender bolt holes. gong to make a set TOMORROW!

Rick,

what paint are you using for the gray? it looks really good and I'd like to use it on my 871!

I have to give a shout out to my good friend David Sechrist in NC for not only giving my sheet metal new life but introducing me to a two part epoxy paint from Nason which I understand used to be Dupont. I have sprayed CNH Acrylic Enamel several times and it is good paint but it is nothing like this Nason. It goes on so well and also is more durable during reassembly. You can ding it with a wrench and it often survives. Here's a photo. David did a color match with many of the Just 8Ns and Dennis Carpenter products. My teardrop headlights that are really for the 8N are almost impossible to detect a color difference.

That is the shade of gray that you want for your 871.

Thanks all. I have found in life that the things we are most proud of are the things we work the hardest on. Lotta hours in this guy but at the end of the day I've got another great tractor to get some seat time.

BEAUTIFUL job! That must have taken quite a while, but you have a tractor you can be proud of. Immaculate workshop, too. Wish I had mine that organized. Post some more pics when you're all done. -Will
