Sounder - quite a distance from you, but how high would this one rate on your 'need to have' list? At least this one runs and drives.

if it was closer I'd go smell it.

O.k.Fellows here is the bottom line, back some years ago you could buy a pair of broken MULES for 150 dollars(still spirited of course)If you plowed the thru a yellow jacket,s nest all bets were off. From what I know of a 6000 ford it would never make it to the yellow jacket nest.Catch my drift !!! That's an excellent example of not knowing the difference between an original and second generation SOS!

Saw that was going up to look at it. At that price I think they are dreaming, although they have enough parts to put it together.

I bought all 3 of my 6000's for less than $825.00. I paid $600.00 each for first 2 and $825.00 for last one. All were in running condition they just needed minor adjustments.

3 Years ago when I bought mine $1500.00 would get me any number of 6000s running and driving OK. Now it's $1500 for a parts tractor and $2000 plus for a runner with issues. Maybe the SOS is making a comeback!

About 5 years ago I went to an auction where there was a running, driving 6000. I was hoping to get it for $500 because of their reputation. The auctioneer opened the bidding at $1500 and a guy raised his hand. He turned out to be the only bidder and bought it. I overheard a guy ask him why he bought that money pit. His response was "I need a bigger tractor than my 8N". The other guy told him "good luck".

Today's Featured Article - A City Guy's First Tractor - by Fred Hambrecht. After living in apartments in Atlanta for more years than I care to remember, the wife and I decided to move to the country. Humming "Green Acres is the place for me..." we purchased a 29 acre tract about 60 miles south of Atlanta. Next came the house, I could talk about that ordeal for another two weeks... But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked ...
