Since I like looking at everybody else's pics, I guess I need to share my own....plus I have some questions. First time posting pics so if something is wrong, please explain. Motor is fresh and has a new clutch. Mechanically, the tractor was great when I bought it, just looked like it was driven off a cliff.

New to me

I have a few things to finish up, like overspray on the tires.

This was a european tractor, and I guess originally it had mudguards, which I will put on when I come across a set. Being I dont know the original owner, and it had regular fenders on it when I bought it, did any european tractors come with the regular fenders or did somebody stick these on there? I bought these fenders new and locally for really cheap compared to what it would've cost me to get the mudguards purchased and shipped.

I would also like to find another turn signal switch, the handle is broken on mine, so I just left it off. What rear lights came on both the american and european tractors?

Also, I think the rubber around the headlights is supposed to be between the grill and light, acting as a grommet, not on the outside as I have it now...correct?

I also need to install a parking brake. What would be my best option or place to buy? My footrest has the whole cut in it for the t-handle style, but whoever removed the parking brake removed every single piece.

Hey, great looking tractor! You are making me jealous. On the subject of the parking brake, I was able to get one for my 3400 from the Wengers of meyerstown website. They have new parts and a big salvage yard. I was able to get a used handle and pawl from them. It cost me a total of 59 clams. I would rather get it from a local yard for less money, but we don't have many in Massachusetts. I tried some other online tractor salvage companies but had no luck. It seems like a somewhat common practice to remove the parking brake on these machines for some reason. Best of luck to you.

Looking good smokedoff!
I love those tractors.
A couple of thoughts:
I've never had the later Brit tractor with the plastic grill but did have an early one with the metal wrap arpound style.
The rubber gaskets went behind the grill on that one.
I don't have a spare parking brake here but if you email me I'll send you Larry D's phone #.
He is a good, honest trader and will likely have one he will sell.
As for the missing pictures, you likely copied the url of the picture wrong so it doesn't show up.
I tried to access your photobucket page but you must have it set for private view so I can't.
If you set it for public view then I could help.
Some guys don't want to share their albums with family photos, etc. I understand that. Of the many sub folders on my photobucket page I have only one folder with personal stuff set to private view. All the rest are set to public view so any one can access it.
My private folder doesn't even show up on the list of sub folders unless you are logged in to my account.
My Photobucket page.

i'll be glad to email you. whats your email?

I set the photobucket account to public, sometimes the pics show up and sometimes they don't. That's what I dont understand. I went to photo bucket, copied the IMG code, and pasted....

I appreciate all the help I can get. I want to post some pics in the jd forum of some planters I rebuilt but want to make sure I get the image attachment right first.

Thanks!

This tractor is set up WIDE. I understand how the front wheels got moved out, but how did those rear wheels get into the next county? This is new territory to me.

they are on 72in centers....i plant my garden on 36in rows. i leave it like that all the time, even mowing, except for breaking my garden with a 3 bottom plow....i do that with a jd 5075 thats 60in width

The rear wheel track width can be adjusted by changing the position of the loops on the rims relative to the loops on the centers when you bolt the the centers to the rims, as well as whether you mount the centers to the hubs dished in or dished out. my manual shows 7 supported widths for the 2000 and 3000 and 8 supported widths for the 4000. The narrowest possible setup isn't apparently supposed to be used on the 2000 and 3000 models.
