5610 light switch

On my 5600 there is a very small set screw on the bottom of the knob. The knob is black and dirty, so it was hard to find.

If it's like the one in my 7600, you need a -small- allen wrench. Probably hidden on the underside of the knob.

I do NOT know first hand...but offering a suggestion. IF you can get your hand/fingers to the "body" of the switch, check/feel around to see if there is a small button to depress that would release the knob and stem to pull out. I have seen that sort of thing in automotive scenarios.

Good luck...hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable will chime in.

Some have a set screw (B prefix serials) and some have a roll pin (C pefix)... Remove which ever retainer is there and pull the knob straight out.

Rod, just wondering, did you get that backwards? my tractors are both C's and both have the allen head set screws! Which reminds me, I've gotta put the new knob on the 5610! Only been 5 years without a knob, hope I can find the new one. LOL

Mabey... All I remember for sure is that a Romeo has a pull switch and a Basildon has a turn switch. You're probably correct... the Basildon will have the roll pin and the Romeo will have the set screw.

Just replaced the light switch on my 7710. Had the same problem. The 7710 has a small pin that you have to depress to get the knob off. Still had to pull really hard even with pin depressed to get the knob off. Don't know if the 5610 is the same - hope this helps. I used a small pick to depress the pin.
