4000 4 CYL FORD REMOTE HYDRAULIC CONTROL

I would like to replace the original 2nd handle and restore the correct pivot points for this control unit but can't seem to find any literature on it. Basically, need identification so I know what to ask for.

Any help or parts source information is greatly appreciated.

One other quick question - Is this shut off supposed to be that close to the valve cover or is the tank deformed?

Your fuel tank is definitely bowed downward. The bottom should be nearly flat.

I have the same dual spool valve on my 64 4000. One of the handles was missing when I bought the tractor. These handles are NLS and hard to find. Eventually, I bought a complete single valve for the handle. Though I cannot remember with certainty, I believe that the threaded pivot bolts are still available.

The handles are cast iron and many have been broken over the years.

I just took another look at the dual Ford remote valve on my 64 4000. As expected, your valve is missing the lower, #1, handle. This is the most prone to breakage and the most difficult to find.

This valve is illustrated in the I & T FO-20 manual. You can view the threaded pivot bolts, both of which are identical.

while you could probably buy and adapt one of the tisco valve handles from here, for 30$ plus shipping.. I think I'd get the welder or brazing rods out and see what I could do to fix that one, and then fab another using mild steel. I have several different valves.. many with broke and repaired handles 9 weld or braze ), and one using a custom fabbed handle, again, made out of mild steel.

the lil short pivot.. I've seen em fo sale but can't think of where I saw them. i have mad ethem using a bolt and patience with a grinder and file... passes muster if you don't stare close at it.. :)

good luck!

Odd timing that you posted this. I ordered a new pivot eye bolt for
my single spool remote yesterday. They are available, but are a
little pricey. I paid 33.75 for it. As Dean said, you can locate info
in the back of your service manual, and a parts breakdown on the
New Holland site. I go to www.benesserviceDOTcom , click on the
New Holland symbol on the bottom, go to parts search, type in
3000 as the model, hydraulic systems, remote valves, and there is a
great breakdown there with part numbers. No idea on the handle,
but I wish I had the dual remote instead of the single.
Good luck

Wonder how the tank bellied out - Vent in gas cap plugged mebbe?

[b:b45113622d]For all the other posters:[/b:b45113622d] Thanks guys for all of your help - Keep me in mind if you happen across a spare OEM handle. In the interim, I'll cobble something that will work and despise it until the correct part comes along.

on the tank, is it setting flat at the top and in the brackets correctly?

here's what my 950 looks like

Part number for handle D3NNB936A same for top and bottom. Pin number C9NND912A.Both available from the sponsors of this website.

Picture of the pivot might be of another part, but if it is a picture of the correct part, it does not look like the pivot on my valve. No idea on the handle as I did not see a picture. Great sleuthing.

The handle and pivot distributed by TISCO and available from this site and others, are NOT, repeat NOT, useable on the pictured FoMoCo valve.

Unlike the TISCO valve, which uses side-by-side spools, the pictured FoMoCo valve uses vertically stacked spools with handles of different lengths.

Thanks for the photo Chris - Yes, tank appears to be mounted correctly - Just looks to have been overinflated at one point.

Guess I'll add this to the shopping list unless it's something I can "flatten" back out. Won't know until I tear into it.

In almost every tank I've noticed there were baffles inside that tied the roof to the floor? I haven't looked inside this one (too high off the ground).

This is a lot more tractor in every way than an "N" Was out bush hogging the back 40 this week - Tall brush and grass that would have choked out the "N" It was literally hurling palmetto roots out the back. I was impressed!

Nice looking 950 - Love those big meats on the rear. What are the four little triangles on the center section of the rear wheels?
