5000 inching pedal and control valve

Thanks to those who helped with the questions about the control valve in my 5000 SoS. I have the control valve out of it and ready for cleaning.

Forddoc, I believe you said to use fine sand paper and solvent to clean the valves. They seem to move freely, but I plan on cleaning them anyway.

Is it OK to use ultra fine steel wool? or should I get the sand paper?

I have some other things I need to do now, but I'll check back later.

ultra fine wet sandpaper is needed to roll up and polish valve body bores and the valves. but i never have tried the wool.
 

Good point about rolling it up...I never thought of cleaning the bore, just the plunger. Glad I got both.

If I can figure out how to post pictures here, I'll post some of the steps needed to do this. A digital camera in the shop is a great tool. Pictures before taking things apart help in getting things back together right.
