Both of my lift arms have give it up.Since I can not inspect the threads on the lower link which is cast, how can I tell if they are bad?Which is the norm, does the top link or the bottom link wear out first?,or are they both wore out. Thanks for the help.

I presume you are talking about the lift links? I would think you could inspect the condition of the threads and discern which part has failed.

If I'm understanding correctly, you can check the threads on the upper and look down into the threads on the lower.. the bottom part of the upper wears more so look for the difference in thread thickness. the top part of the lower wears more so start the two together for about three turns and see how tight they are. If you can wobble them about, replace both top and bottoms. you can buy them whole and aftermarket cheaper that buying just the top or bottom IIRC.
