4600 Ford

Anyone ever put a Ford 5000 engine in a 4600?
I think I would need at least the hood & steering linkage.
Anything else I'm missing?

Throttle linkage, maybe fuel lines... but that might be the same from the tank to the filter. Bigger radiator?

they use the same rad. the fuel supply line from tank is needed for its longer length.

Hood and fan blade are the main things. Drag link will probably work unless you really widen the fronts out. Other stuff you'd make up I think.
Holding the 256 with that little clutch might be a problem tho...
The 30 series tractors DID stuff the 256 into the 3 cylinder chassis but by that time they had a 13" clutch so it wasn't really a problem.

Sounds like a Ford 4800, basicly a 4000 with a detuned 5000 motor,apparently only sold in Scotland.

The engine harness will be about 5" short.
When you get down to the end, you will find the other little stuff. There really shouldn't be anything insurmountable.
