53 Jubilee Hyd. Problem

Have a 53 jubilee that the hyd. do not respond well. I have a bush hog attached to it at this time and when trying to get to a proper level it is slow to respond. It will raise it all the way up and it goes all the way down but it hard to get it any were in between the two positions. The hyd. control travels a lot with no response from the lift. I am have trouble explaining whats going on with it. When I first started to bush hog today the hyd. would not work at all. It was in the down position and the fluid checked low in that position so i added hyd. fluid to the full mark. It still would not work then. But i waited a min. or two with it running and it final raised up. But was jerky, that went away after some time. The hyd. pump does not have the flow control on the rear of the pump. Not sure if it was replaced at some time or what. If someone can give me any advise it would be a great help.
Thanks,
Keith

Sounds like your pump as have many been replace with a piston pump, a lot better. Your lift problem seems to be your position control pin is worn enough that it is not responding correctly. A simple top cover R&R reseal and adjust should solve that. Repair kits are easy to find, control pin is from NH only.
GOOD LUCK

I have a 54 NAA with hydraulic problems. Was working fine & suddenly stopped. I rebuilt the piston pump, now will lift up very slow when revved up & is jerky. Also replaced the pressure relief valve, didn"t make any difference. Any ideas what to try next?

When you lift a load to full up, stop engine, how long will it hold (or stated another way, how long does it take to leak down?).

JMOR it will leak down, I guess in a few min. I just dealing with it at the moment. Thanks for your help!

Actually, I was trying to respond to Buck. But will try to help anyone. Keith, hadn't seen anything from you in a few days, so thought maybe you resolved your problem.
