Update Over ReVVVed 850

Back on 2/27, I posted about my 850 (172 gas) Anyway checked everything ignition wise replaced all with known working parts. Blue spark fuel good etc.But had no compression gauge .(long story) So I pulled head got to shop they pulled the head gasket from head, showed me where it was blown, Valve springs had no tension, and only 1 exhaust valve had rotater on it,seats were beat up .$317.20-- $200.labor --$117.20 parts & tax I have a good head . Will be a week or 2 before I get it back together.Pistons looked OK. Have another parts ? but will make another post Thanks, dog

Thanks for the update; it's always good to hear how things turn out. It sounds like you dodged a bullet: 300 bucks to fix an overspeeded engine isn't bad at all. I'll bet those valve springs were about shot before you wound it up.

Thanks Mark, I hope I have no other problems, It should run great now .I was happy with the power it had before. Just got to come up with the $$ for gaskets, valve caps,and governor linkage. Will follow up Thanks,, 1dog
