3000 fuel pedal install

I bought this kit on Ebay. Picture is all that came in box. I have looked at the Ford parts .PDF but cannot figure out how to assemble it. Could anyone shed any light on installing this pedal assy. on a 3000 Diesel?

Is the kit designed for a diesel, or just a gas??? Make sure on that.

Sounds like it is after-market, so of course Ford won't have it in it's diagrams. :)

Pedal bolts onto the left somewhow,

and the linkage fits onto the same place the throttle goes somehow (the rod???),

and the regular throttle needs to be able to float forward somehow (the chain?).

Bracket miust support something (the rod?).

Alan this one doesn"t look like the one we have on our 3000 diesel. I am assuming it is a foot accelerator. The factory one goes on the right hand foot plate over on the right hand edge and the pedal hinges off the bottom like a car type pedal. It the has a linkage and a spring assembly that runs up to the hands throttle linkage under the cowling under the steering wheel. I would try finding a picture of the set up. Sory that is all the help I can be at this stage.

It wont work on a gasser. The gassers have another bell crank with a friction disc under the manifold. Diesels just have one rod that goes from the throttle to the pump. Sorry to see you bought it. Maybe you can sell it here to someone with a diesel. Did you buy that from Bill Crafton on Ebay? I wrote to him about a year ago and told him he should specify that it will only fit diesels. Never heard back from him.
He is a good seller otherwise. I've bought several items from him with no complaints.

I bought the same kit from Bill Crafton.
Great seller, but some directions with the kit, would be nice.
I plan on installing mine as soon as the weather warms up.
I'll let you know how I make out.

all though i wil tell yea, i am thinking of taking mine off, i have size 11 shoes and when i am resting my foot on teh bracket next to teh brake pedals where this foot accelerator goes, about half teh time i find my foot hitting the pedal and raising the RPM's when i dont need it.

I got this kit from Bill Crafton also. I googled the P/N and got a European website selling the exact kit.

While traveling home today I noticed a Ford 3000 for sale. I wheeled around and took a look. The tractor was a 73 model and had a 5' clipper and box blade that came as a package deal for 5K. After looking at the 3000 I figured out it was an English tractor and included the fuel pedal. I will take pics of the install tomorrow. The hour meter read 5k but the tractor looked good for it's age. Tires were good and no rust whatsoever. He did say he would sell just the tractor for $4200. A tad high?
