Wondering if any of you gents might have a diagram of the rear brake assembly for the 801 series. My husband's tractor is new to us and leaking around the rear axle, I want to see what we need to order to refurb it. Thanks so much!!

The folks on this forum showed me this source last week. I don't know how to include pictures, but typing 801 into the model number and selecting the tractor (it looks like they made a lot of things numbered "801") should get you what you want.

Here's a diagram of the rear axle. Your axle will be in the upper left box and the axle trumpet below. Two seals are used and inner, #4233 and outer #4251 seal. You'll need to split the collar #4132 to get to the inner seal. Check the archives for info on how to remove the collar. It would be a good idea to get a Ford Shop Manual and a Master Parts Catalog. You'll find them very helpful. Post back if you need more. Hope this helps.

Glen:

The diagram provided is an 8N diagram. The xx0 and xx1 brakes are completely different.

Dean; check out the insert on the upper left corner. It's for an XX0 and XX1. In my Parts Catalog they combine the info on the same page. The info was not for the brakes but the axle seals.

As Glen said, you'll be ahead of the game if you get a Ford Shop Manual (looks like the one in this photo). The procedure is described in there but may scare you off....almost did me....because of all the special tools they want you to use.

But with the help of this board, I pulled it off. It can be done and you can do it.
