I have a Ford 3000 and hydraulic fluid is leaking out (at a fast rate) around the spool on the hydraulic unit that sits just under the seat. Does anyone know how I can get a rebuilt unit? The new ones is about $600. The other odd thing about this hydraulic unit is its painted yellow. The tractor is an ag blue tractor. Anyone ever see that?

Yellow usually meant "industrial" rather than "ag". Shouldn't matter as long as it works.

The seal on the spool are one or in some cases two " O rings ". My NH dealer told me how to do the job and it took less than an hour. However I can't remember the procedure to help you. Maybe talk to your dealer. The IT manuals have a good page or two on repairing these valves but my manual is not here. It may be worth gettin one. I hope this helps you.

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
