Sounds like your transmission feathering valve (inching valve) stuck open. You probably need to take cover off, remove control valves and give them a good cleaning and polishing. Be careful, there are strict proceedures for removing control cables to get the cover off. The control valve is under the top cover on all but the latest S.O.S. units. You didn't say what year yours is.

You really need a service manual before you tackle this!!!!!!!

I purchased my manual through the vendor here at YT site, I was very dissatisfied with the quality, the illstrations are so dark that you cannot see what is being shown. I would NOT recommend purchasing from this vendor unless you can find no other copy of the manuals anywhere else. Good luck.

You can go to newholland.com/ and do a search for service manuals.

Today's Featured Article - A City Guy's First Tractor - by Fred Hambrecht. After living in apartments in Atlanta for more years than I care to remember, the wife and I decided to move to the country. Humming "Green Acres is the place for me..." we purchased a 29 acre tract about 60 miles south of Atlanta. Next came the house, I could talk about that ordeal for another two weeks... But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked ...
