i have an early ford 8000 with a cab on it, i was wondering if NH offers a rops that willwork with the cab, it looks like there is enought room inside the back of the cab for the rops bar, i would just need to cut a few holes in the bottom of the cab. i know they were making rops kits for everything back to the N series so i would think they make one, but anyone know if it would work with the cab and roughly how much it would cost?

Tell us what brand of cab is on your tractor and we can probably be of more help.

As a previous poster said, the Hiniker 1300 cab on my 8600 has the ROPS feature built right into it.

My 9600 has the Allen cab. The ROPS is factory Ford mounted externally behind the cab on this tractor.

The Hiniker cab has superior visibility to the rear over the Allen because the big roll bar kind of gets in the way. OTOH, I don't have to fill the fuel tank from inside the cab on the Allen. So they all have their positive and negative points.

I'd say the best source for a ROPS to fit your tractor would be the salvage yard.

most all cabs were designed to act as rops unless you have a very old one...

the hiniker cabs and other after market cabs.. even had a sticker on them stating that seat belts had to be worn, for the rops to work... and that they were certified for certain model tractors and or weights of tractors... the ford cabs also was certified for rops.. as long as the seat belts were worn..

look carefully to see if the decals or parts of them remain.....

good luck... Bill

the early ford cabs were year-around brand cabs, nothing more than a sheetmetal cab,in a rollover im sure it would crumple like a tin can, and with a cab on the tractor its alot harder to bail out in a rollover than it would be on an open tractor.
