Anyone know if the "thousand" models of Ford tractors came standard with Live PTO and PS? Also, HP ratings?

My 1962 4000 gas has power steering, live pto, 2 stage clutch, h.p. I think is 40? or 50? not totally sure but it works fine for me. JohnG

My 69' 3000 Dsl has both. It is rated at 39 Hp. The sales brochure which Oake has posted might be of interest to you.

David,

My '67 3000 has a two stage clutch so I can stop the tractor motion but not the PTO - clutch ALL the way stops both. And as far as I know that was standard, may even been standard for the 3 cyl. 2000s. I am at my farm where I don't have the original Ford Thousand series brochure. I will look Wed. eve. when I get back to the city and post back here (if this hasn't rolled out the bottom).
PS was definately an option - I don't have it. :-(

Regards,
Larry

4 and 6 speed 2000 and 3000's did not have live PTO. 8 speed 2000 and 3000's came both with and without live PTO.

The 2000 and 3000 definitely DID NOT have LPTO and PS as standard equipment. I am inclined to say the 4000 and 5000 had independent PTO as standard equipment, but not PS. Horsepower varied with engine & transmission choices and year of production. In general, the 2000 was about 32 hp, 3000, 38 hp, 4000, 50 hp and 5000 68 hp.
