Pulled the original radiator. I'm Recoring the radiator to save the 5-59 stamped upper tank abd keep it as origginal as possible. Noticed that the original core was all plugged up and holes in top of core were about 70% solid closed.

Question about water pump:

If it ain't broke don't fix it? or while I have the Front End Loader , hood assembly, and gas tank removed is it a good idea to replace the original water pump now?

What would you do? 1959 water pump.

I agree with the guy below. Change the belts, upper hose, lower hose, clamps, thermostat, and have the water pump rebuilt by a rebuilding shop. They can usually put in all new seals, bearings, gaskets, and throughly clean everything.

CHANGE the pump, belts and hoses... run it ten minutes.. then tighten all the hoses and belts..

its a nightmare to work around the loader later..

you'll be far far ahead.. good luck.. bill

Tom; I would, money well spent, will save you lots of work later on, also would change the belts while you are at it!
