Our 4000 SOS has done 781 hours from new, Dad bought it new in June 1972. I have the manual and have just changed the SOS filter and oil and cleaned the pick-up screen per the book. Would you advise me to check the band adjustments when it is currently and always has been running like a "Prince". It does everything right with the changes and I was wondering if I would be better leaving well enough alone, knowing the fluid is clean? Is it one of the last SOS as the 4100 was not available with SOS, at least here in Australia.

David, Greetings from New York (No New York is not ALL city, It's 90% Farmland) Anyway you may get different opinions on this one. I would adjust the bands just for my own peace of mind. Its not a complicated process if you have the manual and even if you get back exactly to the settings you have now, you didn't hurt anything. This is just an opinion and 100% guaranteed or your money refunded. :) Dan J
