I have a 67 ford 3000 diesel that I use for mowing. I put about 50 to 60 hours on the tractor each year. My question---should I change the oil and filter each spring, change the oil only, or use the same oil for several years? thanks.

van is right to tellyou to change the filter every time.in addition to the air cleaner , if you own a 3 with an in-line pump you should change that oil too. just use same type as in the motor. if you have a distributor type pump there is no oil to change as the fuel lubricates the pump just be sure to never run the tractor with number 1 diesel in the tank durin g warm weather

JD; Oil is "cheap" compared to overhauls, changed oil and filter (also filter for diesel fuel) at least once a year, always changed new filter with oil change. Makes no sense to run clean oil thru a dirty filter!! Don't forget the "air cleaner" , Very important.
