My son bought a second hand Ford Super Dexta 2000 diesel this summer. It runs well but the shifter forks come out of the cups in the transmission if he shifts quickly rather than slowly and carefully. He then has to take the shifter plate off to reinsert the forks in the cups. He says the forks themselves appear new and everything looks fine. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Common problem. I looked at buying a Dexta a while back and found that the shifter is still available from Ford. The cheap fix is to braze material on to the bottom of the ball and then grind it off until it fits properly. Try posting on the Fordson board on this site - alot of good info over there on these tractors. Also look at Link
