I am new with tractors, but i've acquired a jubilee with hydraulic problems.they don't work at all.I've replaced lift piston leather and o-ring,unloading valve o-ring,and rest of o-rings in lift cylinder.hydraulic line was busted and i fixed that.the vane type hydraulic pump cotrol adj.knob(i guess thats what that thing is)was stuck, replaced o-ring and now turns freely.I think now my problem is bleeding the pump.how is the best way to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.thank you.

I have a Golden Jubilee, with hydraulic problems. It will only raise up about 4 inches most of the time, less when it is hot. When I push the draft control lever about 1 inch it will raise up a good distance. When I put it in the horizonal position, it will not lift.( I think this is normal) What should I be looking for? Also what is the adjustment for the travel arm inside? That is the one for the touch control leaver. It has been moved. I also took off the side plate(pto leaver plate) and could see no leaks. It does not leak off when setting.

take out the bleeder plug that is on top of the pump and apply air pressure to the hydrolic reservoir untill oil comes out the bleeder hole. replace plug, this will do it. good luck.

Yes, Mel I got your message and thanks for the advice.I've got the pump bled by directing air pressure into the dipstick tube with the return line disconnected.I tightened the line up with fluid running out.But still loses prime.I've got a vane type pump, and to my knowledge theres not a bleeder on this pump.Am i correct? I'm thinking now its sucking air inside the pump body.would this be correct? What should I do now?PLEASE HELP,THANK YOU!

The pump you have (Vickers Vane pump) is obsolete. You might be able to get a repair kit for the Baum iron works in I thing Kansas or Nebraska if anywhere.Look in the aol yellow pages. I did a thing on the NAA lift on the N page that is probably in the archives in Now or early Dec. if you will find it I think it may help you. Zane in Al.

It sounds like you need to pull your pump off. Take your end section off of the pump and check for intake balls or springs being gone or stuck open. The shaft seal could be hard or worn out.The exhaust valves could have the problems as the intakes. You can order a pump overhaul kit from Tisco or your Ford dealer.
