I have a ford 4400 backhoe. It has a 3 cylinder gas engine.I was told once it was a 4500,then a 4400.Now I'm confused.Has the Ford loader and backhoe on it,runs well.Told also it was made in 1965.The colors on this tractor is yellow on sheet metal and wheels and loader-backhoe.Belly is blue.Is this original?Serial no.has a 440 in it.Thanks for any help.

As far as I know the 4500 is newer than the 4400. It is definatly not any bigger.
My dad has had a 4400 backhoe for over 25 years. Yes the belly is supposed to be blue and the sheet metal yellow.
I don't think that this is any real differance between the 4500 and the 4400.
The desiel engine was an option in each.
