My Dad and I have a 54 NAA, which likes to jump out of 1st gear when going down a hill. When this happens it makes for a very interesting ride. Also when placing the tractor in 1st gear we have to give the shifter a slight clockwise twist. We only bought the tractor a week or so ago so we don't know a whole lot about it, yet. Any thoughts on this subject would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like wear on the shift rail detents. I've had similar problems with 8Ns. EEA
